Meet the Team!

First, meet Lisa, our fearless leader from Michigan:

Our youngest team member is Kara, a high school student from Hawaii:

Pastor Brian is one of 4 pastors on our team and is from Amarillo, Texas:

Pastor Paul and Julie are from the Chicago area:

Pastor Dave and his son, Sam, are also from the Chicago area:

Rounding out the team at 9 members are Pastor Greg and Diana from Oregon:

So that's the team. We'll be posting pictures and updates when we get back to our hotel (and its free wifi) after our work each day in the village of Quince de Julio ("July 15th"). Tomorrow our project begins with community mapping as we see what the water conditions and needs are of the village. It will be a short day at the village as we'll have lots of lesson planning and project prep work to do before we start officially on Monday.

Church (Host) Information:

The Lutheran Church-Canada (LC-C) began a Nicaraguan mission in 1997 after receiving an invitation to share the gospel in the Central American nation. The first missionary to be called was Pastor Sandor Arguello, a Nicaraguan refugee. His first months were tough. But following Hurricane Mitch in 1998, people needed emergency help. The church responded. Arguello spread the Gospel, and God opened hearts and built a community of believers. In January 2008, Iglesia Luterana Sínodo de Nicaragua (ILSN) was born. Francisco Jose Peralta Mojica became the Mission Team Coordinator for the ILSN in March of 2012. He will be the host for this team.
