Nicaragua Day One

Some photo highlights from our first day in Nicaragua...
We saw several volcanoes on our descent into Managua -- the name of our hotel is even Hotel Los Volcanes:
Clearing customs was quite simple -- none of us were questioned even though we're packing odd things like hundreds of toothbrushes and bars of soap:
We had to rent a minibus to transport the team to the hotel in Chinandega -- the ride was longer than expected due to holiday traffic:
We had lots of friendly help in loading our luggage:
Just enough room for passengers:
Loved the blessing inside our bus -- "Lord, bless this bus and its passengers":
We had fast-food for lunch at Tip-Top (fried chicken and rotisserie chicken), but it wasn't like American fast food because there were servers and attendants at the door and in the parking lot:
And dinner -- wow! We had a typical Nicaraguan dinner in our hotel of bistec a la plancha (grilled steak), queso frito (fried cheese), gallo pinto (rice and beans), and plátanos (plantains). It was all sabroso (delicious)!
